ONGOING PROJECT

Building a Unified Product Experience from the Ground Up

SPOTIO is a field sales engagement platform that helps teams manage territories, organize customer relationships, and streamline their day-to-day operations.

As the sole product designer, I lead the redesign of SPOTIO's mobile, tablet, and desktop experiences while developing a comprehensive design system from scratch. Beyond the interface, I've restructured our Figma environment, refined design-to-development workflows, and collaborated directly with our engineering team in Poland. Together, these efforts are establishing a more cohesive and scalable foundation for the product as it continues to evolve.

MY ROLE:

  • Systems Designer

  • Architect Designer

  • UX Architecture

01

THE PROBLEM

Powerful technology. An experience that needed to catch up.

SPOTIO had built a powerful field sales platform with extensive features and customizable workflows. However, the mobile and desktop experiences made many of those capabilities difficult to discover, understand, and use.

As a result, users often overlooked features or used them differently than intended. While flexibility is essential to supporting different sales processes, poor discoverability and unnecessary complexity contributed to app fatigue and user frustration.

The challenge wasn't to reinvent what SPOTIO could do. It was to rethink how users experienced it—making powerful functionality more accessible, intuitive, and easier to navigate without sacrificing the flexibility that makes the platform valuable.

// Specific user pain points, product constraints, or team challenges that prompted the redesign. We should verify these before describing them as established problems.

02

BUILDING THE

FOUNDATION

One design system. A foundation for everything else.

I built SPOTIO's new design system from scratch, creating a shared visual and functional language across mobile, tablet, and desktop experiences.

Rather than developing the system independently of the product, I built it alongside the redesign. Components, interaction states, and reusable patterns were informed by real application workflows, allowing the system to grow with the needs of the product.

From foundational elements to more complex components, the system establishes consistency across experiences while providing a scalable framework for future development. As new features are designed and implemented, the library continues to evolve alongside them.

03

THE PRODUCT

Designing across the experience.

With a shared design foundation in place, I focused on making SPOTIO's features easier to discover, navigate, and use across mobile, tablet, and desktop.

Each workflow presented its own interaction and information challenges, requiring a balance between simplicity and the flexibility that field sales teams depend on. The result is a more cohesive product experience, with additional features and AI-powered capabilities continuing to evolve.

Home & Dashboard

Creating a centralized workspace that brings daily priorities, scheduled activities, and account information together across devices.

Map & Routing

Simplifying territory management, route planning, and location-based workflows for sales teams in the field.

Calendar & Activities

Bringing appointments, activities, and daily planning into a more organized and intuitive scheduling experience.

DASH AI Assistant

- ongoing development -

An AI-powered assistant designed to help sales teams find information, navigate workflows, and access relevant answers in context.

DESIGN

PHILOSPHY

Designing the way we work, too.

A thoughtful product experience depends on more than what happens on the screen. It also requires clear processes, shared understanding, and effective collaboration behind the scenes.

Alongside the product redesign, I restructured our Figma environment, established consistent file conventions, and refined the design-to-development handoff process. I also helped organize our Jira workflows to create a clearer path from initial exploration to engineering implementation.

Working as the sole product designer has made collaboration especially important. This summer, I traveled to Poland to work directly with our engineering team, strengthening the partnership between design and development and helping turn ideas into a more cohesive product experience.

Design-to-Development Workflow – A structured process for moving work from exploration through implementation.

Project Organization – Establishing a consistent structure for navigating product initiatives and design files.

File Architecture – Organizing design work into predictable, reusable structures.

Naming & Documentation Standards — Creating clarity around file ownership, status, and handoff readiness.

REFLECTION

+ RESULTS

A living product, still evolving.

The redesigned experience is already being implemented, with additional features—including communications, reporting, and expanded settings workflows—still on the roadmap.

What began as a product redesign has grown into something much broader: a unified design system, a more structured design process, and a closer partnership between design and engineering.

01 · PRODUCT

A more unified experience

Redesigned core workflows across mobile, tablet, and desktop, with a focus on making features easier to discover and navigate.

02 · SYSTEMS

Built for what comes next

Established a comprehensive design system from scratch, creating reusable components and consistent patterns across the product.

03 · OPERATIONS

A clearer way to builD

Restructured Figma organization and design handoffs while strengthening collaboration with our engineering team overseas.

This project has reshaped how I approach product design—not simply as a series of features to deliver, but as an interconnected system of experiences, people, and processes. As SPOTIO continues to evolve, so does the foundation we're building to support it.

“The work isn't just the interface. It's the foundation that makes the next iteration possible.”
